A delegation from the Cologne Business School (CBS) in Germany visited the GUC on the 16th of December 2019 in the context of the GUC-CBS “Responsible Management” Symposium that is funded by the DAAD-BMBF fund that fosters the long-term cooperation between both universities. The delegation included Professor Elisabeth Froehlich, President of CBS and Spokesperson of the United Nations - Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN-PRME) in Germany; Professor Markus Raueiser, Vice President for Internationalization at CBS and Dean of the International Business Department; Marina Schmitz, Lecturer and Project Manager at the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM) at the CBS; as well as Silvia Damme, Research Associate at the CASM, CBS.
The “Responsible Management” symposium is organized by Prof. Noha El-Bassiouny, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Management Technology, and Ola Wazir, assistant lecturer of marketing at the Faculty. The event covered the role of academic research in development, the importance of sustainable management and sustainable supply chains, the state of sustainability in Egyptian companies, as well as the role of sustainability in higher education.
The symposium was attended by faculty members, representatives from companies and the private sector, other neighboring universities in Egypt, representatives from public policy makers as well as civil society organizations.
